Saying a confused and ignorant person is happy is just like saying a drunk person is happy. They aren’t really, TRULY and HONESTLY happy. And yes, I think the majority of us are not usually happy, but that’s what makes the emotion so enjoyable, so wonderful, since it is kind of rare these days.

isn’t happiness a subjective reality, not an objective one? if that’s true, you can’t deny that a confused/ignorant person is happy.

You do mean the “continental” U.S., right? Because the “westernmost slice of land” is here in the state of Hawaii… unless… you’re here? In which case, why haven’t you called me? ::chuckle::

(Actually, the southernmost part of the U.S. is also found in Hawaii.)

awesome! it’s heartening to hear there’s someone out there that shares that with me. it seemed almost biblical to me, with all the morals and fables… now that i think of it, my “faith” is very much tied to that fire. i suppose then i’m a humanist.
